Transport during the Olympics & Paralympics – maps & links

Transport for London gave us an idea of how some roads in London will be restricted during London 2012 at our meeting last month.  Daytime deliveries won’t be allowed in some areas – some of us have concerns about the housebound and those who rely on visits and home deliveries.

Cycling, walking and public transport will be encouraged, although there will also be extra security cordons around many of the National Houses (where participating countries will be holding events during the Games), City Hall and other significant buildings.

LOCOG has invited us to a follow-up meeting on transport at their offices at 1 Churchill Place, Canary Wharf, E14 5LN on Thursday 8th March 6-8pm.  Please email Ruhena.Ahmed@London2012.com if you’d like to attend.

I’ll post the slides and further information here when they arrive, but in the meantime here are some links.  There is an interactive map showing all the London boroughs which is useful for planning.

There is also a general information page, with links to many others.

And here’s a link to a day-by-day map of expected congestion.  Watch out on 29th July!
